TSE Nursery’s Chicago Hardy Fig plants come in a set of four. This variety is well-known for its ability to thrive in a variety of climates—even in regions with cold winters.
The medium-sized figs have a rich, jammy flavor with smooth skin and a deep purplish-brown color when ripe. Unlike some fruit trees that produce in a single short window, Chicago Hardy Figs continue ripening throughout late summer and early fall, extending the harvest season. Their fruit can be enjoyed fresh, dried, or used in preserves and baking.
These figs grow as small trees or large shrubs, reaching 10–15 feet when planted in the ground but can also be kept more compact with pruning. They are well-suited for container gardening, making them an excellent choice for those with limited space. In pots, they need at least 10–15 gallons of soil to support healthy growth and fruiting. Whether grown in a backyard orchard or on a patio, Chicago Hardy Figs are a resilient and rewarding addition to any garden.
