The USDA has placed the majority of the southeastern United States under an "invasive fire ant quarantine", requiring all nurseries in the quarantine zone to treat their potted plants with one of two synthetic chemicals before shipping any potted plants outside the quarantine zone. This is to supposedly eliminate the possibility of any fire ants being spread outside of the quarantine zone. The Southern Edible Nursery refuses to chemically treat its plants before shipment, as the two chemicals required for treatment are toxic to both the human body and the natural environment. That being the case, The Southern Edible Nursery is only able to ship potted plants to customers within the quarantine zone created by the USDA. The resultant shipping policy is as follows:
The Southern Edible Nursery will ship any of its products to all customers with a delivery address in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, or South Carolina.
The Southern Edible Nursery will ship any of its products to most customers with a delivery address in Texas, North Carolina, Arkansas, Tennessee, or Oklahoma. If your delivery address is in Texas, North Carolina, Arkansas, Tennessee, or Oklahoma, please consult this map to see if your delivery address is within the USDA's fire ant quarantine zone.
The Southern Edible Nursery will ship all bare root plants to any of the lower 48 States.
If you would like to be 100% sure that I can ship to you, feel free to contact me before making an order!
